Development of Integrated Analysis and Inference System for Cybercrime Investigation (Cyber C.O.P)
Research Goal
As the Principal Investigator leading a 24 billion KRW national project commissioned by the Korean National Police Agency, our laboratory is spearheading the development of Cyber C.O.P. While cybercrimes like online fraud and sexual exploitation grow increasingly sophisticated, current investigations suffer from fragmented data and a heavy reliance on expensive foreign solutions.
Our mission is to overcome these limitations by building an AI-based integrated platform that automates the collection, preprocessing, and analysis of diverse criminal data. By establishing technological sovereignty and replacing foreign tools with a Korea-tailored AI framework, we aim to augment investigators' judgment, enhance the speed and accuracy of suspect identification, and ultimately ensure public safety through a self-sufficient, next-generation response system.

Advanced Social Network Analysis (SNA): We lead the development of network-based methodologies to visualize complex criminal organizations, identifying key orchestrators and structural vulnerabilities to support targeted interventions.

Intelligent Criminal Data Analytics: We engineer multi-dimensional algorithms to detect hidden patterns in massive criminal records, such as burner phone usage and illicit financial transactions, through high-level data mining.

Legal Generative AI & RAG Integration: Our research optimizes cutting-edge Generative AI and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) for legal reasoning, ensuring that AI-driven insights and automated statement analysis strictly adhere to judicial standards.

Integrated Investigation Platform: As the technological control tower, we integrate heterogeneous data (OSINT, cryptocurrency, and financial records) into a unified platform, providing intuitive visualizations and automated support for the entire investigative lifecycle.
