The 2023 Forensic Science CSI Competition, held on Sunday, October 29th, at the International Hall, concluded with great success. This competition was co-hosted with the Pyo Institute of Crime Science to commemorate the establishment of the nation's first Department of Forensic Information Science and Technology. A total of ten teams, each composed of five high school students from across the country selected through a screening process, participated in the event. The student participants engaged in hands-on practice, personally extracting and analyzing evidence from a simulated crime scene and conducting criminal profiling. Each team then had the opportunity to present their analytical findings. The evaluation and judging were conducted by a panel that included Distinguished Professor Chang-won Pyo, along with esteemed faculty members from Hallym University and the Korean National Police University. This competition served as a valuable opportunity to heighten high school students' interest in the field of forensic science and to maximize the educational impact of linking theoretical knowledge with practical investigative skills.
